John started drumming early in his life. He played big band jazz and jazz fusion for many years.

Career goals put the breaks on playing and the hiatus lasted 17 years.

When he returned to music he decided to shift gears playing rock, metal, alternative and blues rock.

He occasionally filled in for Tom Drabek and after Tom retired, John took over drumming full time.
